Riddhi Mapxencar is the founder & chief mentor of DanceKatha Academy. She is a trained Kathak dancer & has secured her Nritya Visharad BA degree in Kathak from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharv Mahavidyalaya. She is a student of Guru Disciple Rajendra Chaturvediji from Mumbai who is the senior disciple of the late Natraj Gopi Krishnaji of Banaras Gharana of Kathak. Riddhi has also been learning semi-classical & contemporary Kathak styles from Karan Pangali (London) & Preeti Sharma (Delhi).
Riddhi has performed at many prestigious Kathak Dance festivals like Kalaghoda Festival, GopiKrishna Mahotsav, Marico evenings in Mumbai & also at KBM showcase 2023 in London.
Apart from her Kathak academy “DanceKatha” she also has a successful Fashion label “MapxencaRS” with her twin sister Siddhi since 2009.
Mitika Joshi is skilled in Kathak & semi-classical dance forms. She did her Master of performing art in( kathak) from Bhatkhande Music Deemed University Lucknow and was awarded a gold medal for being the topper of the batch. She also has experience in musical theatre of more than 4 years, along with experience in stage performance at different platforms like Mughal-e-Azam. She has also earned a diploma in Kathak of 6 years from Prayag Sangeet Sansthan Allahabad.
Satyaprakash Mishra is the son and disciple of critically acclaimed tabla artist, Pandit Kalinath Mishraji of the Benares Gharana. Satyaprakash’s versatility and range make him a sought-after accompanist amongst India’s most renowned dance and music artists. He has performed nationally and internationally with artists such as Chitresh Das, Padmshree Sunayana Hazarilal, Padmashree Suresh Wadekar, Shankar Mahadevan and Padmashree Anup Jalota, Padmashree Pt. Pratap Pawar, Kathak Queen Dr. Sitara Devi. Also accompanied Padmavibhushan Birju Maharaj Ji for various workshops.
His performances have been seen at some of India’s most prestigious festivals including Saptak, Chakradhar, and Harrivallabh, and international venues such as Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Broad Stage, and the Green Music Center. When he is not performing, Satyaprakash is working as an educator, training a new generation of students in the art of tabla through classes and workshops.
An incredible ability to remember and adapt to a large variety of works from different Gharanas (Schools of Music) allows him to work with many renowned dancers & musicians in the community, both in India and Abroad.
