Meet the Founder

DanceKatha is a virtual Dance & Music school teaching Kathak, Tabla & vocals. The founder is Ms Riddhi Mapxencar from Mumbai India. She is a disciple of Kathak Guru Rajendra Chaturvediji who is a disciple of late Natraj Gopi Krishnaji of Banaras Gharana. She has successfully completed her Visharad honours ( BA ) in Kathak & performed at various prestigious dance platforms in India and abroad.

“I stand before you as an artist and an Indian classical dancer. At the age of 31, I made a choice to learn Kathak, a classical Indian Dance form. It was a choice that empowered me, gave me confidence & helped shape the person that I am today. I found my gift of expression & devotion in dance. For me, Dance is a form of meditation, something inside that connects me spiritually and helps me shape into a better human being.
